Member of the best generation of players of the former Yugoslavian , supported by three consecutive titles of the then dominated European Cup, (1989-91).
“The key to success and to be at the top and conquer titles is in your work. In my trajectory that work has been taught by special people such as Zan Tabak. More than a coach, Zan has been a partner and hard training team player from which I have learned to be strong and a great pivot. He has helped me play at a higher level like the level he has known and demonstrated to have throughout his career as a basketball player.Anybody that has the chance to work with him and learn from him will have the experience of a lifetime, having been able to work with one of the best coaches in the world.”
“Zan tabak was one of the main resons why I joined Sevilla when I was 18. As a big man he understands how to work with big guys and help improve their skills as well as give them a better understanding of how to be a modern big man.”
“During my 22 years as a coach, I had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the best coaches in the world. Zan is at the top of that list. His attention to detail, experience that comes from playing at the highest level (alongside Hakeem Olajuwon) in NBA and in Europe and knowledge from thousands of sleepless nights of watching and studying games is incomparable. His love and passion for the game is unmatchable. Zan has been around the game his whole life and his work with big man is so diligent that all players that work with him get better quickly.”
“Zan Tabak worked with me in Real Madrid, the most successful season in the club’s last years. His input towards the staff and his experience, especially with the big men, was absolutely fundamental for the success of the players, the coaches and the club itself.”
“Tabak is known for many things, first and foremost his professionalism. His level of self demand, moves him to everything he does and today that is already considered as something exceptional. Along side, his basketball knowledge covers all of the main fields and areas, and if he’s got one thing is particular, one main guarantee… it is his work and his development with big players. The elevation in quality of the players we worked with, back in the day, was palpable and essential.”
“On the court, as well as life itself, Zan Tabak has helped me internalize a series of fundamental values which are needed in order to play professional basketball, especially the specific foundations that I have learned in many summer sessions by his side. Consistency, discipline or intelligence on the court are just some of the things that he has transmitted to me and that have been a key factor in my progression/success.”
